- Ordinary Portland Cement :By heating a mixture of limestone, clay and some other materials in special kilns in a high temperature to melt and become homogeneous to form what will be known as clinker. Then the clinker is mixed with gypsum and other materials to arrive at the Ordinary Portland Cement, which is considered the type that is suitable for the modern architecture, concrete works and repair, maintenance & restoration works etc.
- Sulphate-Resistant Cement : This cement is characterized by low contents of Tri Calcium Aluminate (C3A) – that chemically reacts with sulfate ions available in soil and water – that prevents concrete expansion and cracking in places where the soil contains a high percentage of sulfates.This type of cement is used in Dams construction; coastal (marine) works e.g. ports and platforms, sewage treatment structures, and foundations.
